On 26 October 2025, SAWAED successfully hosted its Introduction & Networking Session, a virtual gathering that brought together engineering students from across the United Kingdom.
Held online via Microsoft Teams, the session marked an important step in strengthening the SAWAED community and introducing members to the initiative’s vision, programs, and future opportunities.
The event was designed as an open and welcoming space for students—both new and existing members—to learn more about SAWAED’s mission and explore ways to actively engage with its growing ecosystem.
Introducing SAWAED’s Vision
The session began with an overview of SAWAED’s vision, mission, and strategic pillars, highlighting the initiative’s commitment to:
- Supporting Omani engineering students academically and professionally.
- Creating meaningful opportunities for skills development and leadership.
- Building a connected, collaborative, and values-driven community.
A Space for Connection
A key focus of the session was networking and community building. Students from different universities, academic levels, and engineering disciplines had the opportunity to:
- Introduce themselves and share their academic journeys.
- Connect with fellow students across the UK.
- Ask questions and exchange ideas in an open, supportive environment.
Exploring Programs & Activities
Attendees were introduced to several upcoming initiatives and activities, including:
- Engineering workshops focused on technical and professional skills.
- Community-driven projects and volunteering opportunities.
- Platforms for collaboration, discussion, and knowledge sharing.
Contributing to Pillars
One of the highlights of the session was the introduction of SAWAED’s content and legacy platforms. Participants were encouraged to take part as writers, editors, contributors, and project collaborators in:
- The SAWAED Magazine: Where students and professionals collaborate to share insights.
- News & Updates: Documenting SAWAED’s activities and milestones.
- Legacy Initiatives: Creating lasting impact and institutional knowledge.
Looking Ahead
The Introduction & Networking Session reaffirmed SAWAED’s belief that community is its strongest asset. By bringing students together, sharing a clear vision, and opening doors for meaningful involvement, the session set a positive tone for the months ahead.
SAWAED looks forward to building on this momentum through upcoming workshops, publications, and collaborative projects—and welcomes all members to be part of this journey.
