On 22 November, within the historic walls of St George’s Hall in Liverpool, SAWAED proudly took part in the celebration of Oman’s National Day, an occasion that brought together culture, identity, and the aspirations of a new generation of Omani engineers.

The event, organized by the Omani Embassy in London in collaboration with the Liverpool Omani Student Society, was more than a national celebration—it became a space for dialogue, reflection, and shared responsibility toward Oman’s future.

Beyond Tradition and Ceremony

As Omani students gathered to celebrate their national identity, conversations naturally extended beyond tradition. SAWAED engaged with engineering students from across the UK in discussions that reflected both pride in heritage and awareness of the challenges ahead.

Topics such as sustainability, engineering challenges, and innovation for Oman’s future emerged repeatedly, revealing a generation that is not only academically driven, but deeply conscious of its role in shaping long-term national progress.

A Shared Vision for Impact

What stood out most was the level of engagement. Students were eager to exchange ideas, ask difficult questions, and explore how engineering can serve Oman’s development in meaningful ways. These conversations highlighted a fundamental understanding shared by the attendees:

"Engineering is not only about technical excellence—it is about responsibility, impact, and service."

The enthusiasm and maturity demonstrated by the students reflected a strong commitment to contributing positively to Oman’s future, both locally and globally.

SAWAED's Role

SAWAED’s participation in the event reaffirmed its core mission: to bridge academic learning with industry insight, and to support Omani students as they prepare to return home equipped not only with qualifications, but with clarity of purpose.

By engaging directly with students in these national and cultural spaces, SAWAED continues to strengthen its role as a connector—linking education, professional readiness, and national contribution.
